The Royal Visit To Open No 9 Dock - The Royal Procession

The City Council of Manchester had asked the owners of properties along the processional route from Victoria Station to the Town Hall in Albert Square to decorate the front of their building or business premises.

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News on the day of the visit "The general opinion of the throng seemed to be that the City and Borough had responded admirably to the requests of the Lord Mayor and the Mayor for the decoration of buildings".
