Trafford Park Village

Although land had been allocated for the construction of housing for workers, no progress had yet been made. The arrival of Westinghouse was to change this situation, stimulating building activity and leading to the formation of Trafford Park Dwellings Ltd. The Village, as it came to be known, was laid out on an American grid-like pattern, with 'Avenues' and 'Streets'

By 1903 over five hundred houses had been built. The residents were provided with various facilities including schools, churches and public baths. Visitors were also catered for with the construction of a hotel in 1902.
