The Procession

At 12.30pm the royal train arrived at Victoria Station for the first part of the King and Queen's day in Manchester. From the station they travelled to the Town Hall in Albert Square for lunch, cheered by the crowds along the route.

Refreshed, they duly set off for the new No. 9 Dock, their route taking them down Oxford Road to the junction with Cavendish Street, then onwards down Stretford Road to the boundary between Hulme and Stretford.
