Decorating The Royal Procession

The cheering crowd greeted the Royal Procession as it entered Stretford. The Royal Visitors' entrance was marked by a floral banner welcoming the Royal Party, which was stretched across the road at the boundary with Hulme. Prior to the event a number of companies, specialising in decorating streets for processions, had sent their advertising leaflets or business cards to the Council in the hope of being awarded a contract to supply and put up the decorations along the route through Stretford to the boundary with Salford.
